The information in the MarED database as made available by the European Commission DG TREN according to the Marine Equipment Directive comprises the following elements:

• More than 35.000 datasets about products approved under the EU Marine Equipment Directive
• More than 5.000 datasets about products approved under the Mutual Recognition Agreement with the United States of America
• Search engine allowing targeted searches for products (e.g. manufacturer, product name, item no. notified body, type of approval, etc.)
• Results include details on applicants, certificate no., product names, notified body details etc.)

The sections available on the MarED website provided by the Group of Notified Bodies for the Marine Equipment Directive include the following information:

• Detailed contact information to Notified Bodies
• Detailed information on the Marine Equipment Directive including full text, amendments, printable versions etc.
• Searchable Annex A (item lists) of the different directive amendments including applicable regulations and testing standards
• Recommendations and news from MaED for the interpretation and handling of the Marine Equipment Directive according discussions and decisions taken in the respective MarED bodies and agreed upon with the Member States and the European Commission
